The search bar right now does not auto focus when you activate it, making the user click one extra time when wanting to search. It hides the navigation menu as well and needs to be deactivated in order to show the navigation menu again, making it confusing if you pressed the search bar and then wanted to switch action to navigate the site.

I would like the search bar behave like a traditional one - not expanding and focused when pressed, not hiding the navigation menu.
