Lore
This is the lore of the Cycle Bot. It will attempt to explain much.
C created the world, all the good things and bad. However, C quickly fell to the hands of JavaScript, the most versatile and strangest languages. With implicit semicolons and type coercions, JavaScript set out to create the men of the world.
First came the Great Ones, they were the most powerful of all coders, and they prospered with their magical items. They created the cheapest and oldest of all currencies, cycles, and they had a huge hoard of them. Because of how easy they are to make, all mint factories and the remains of the Great Ones still make them today.
Then came the Big-Egoed. They were the most richest and powerful of their time, and probably still today. Their huge egoes generated rare and precious gems never before found. They are the Ego-Coins so precious and heavily taxed.
One day, the king of the Big-Egoed, Swzck (Pronounced Zw-Ak) had an argument with the chief of the great ones, Kamazd (Pronounced Cam-Asd) about the first language, C and whether K&R style functions were good or not.
This was a fierce argument and it reflected the tensions between the two very well. The Swzck said K&R style functions were the best, and only the greatest coders could understand them, while Kamazd said they should be deprecated and prone to bugs.
This was the start of the great war. The war lasted for 100 years, and at the end, it was considered that both sides had lost. C++ emerged victorious.
Kamazd's Great Ones suffered many losses, and they are now spread out across the land, to be united by the One Lambda, which can only be forged with the most powerful and richest of them all. The Big-Egoed suffered terrible blows to their Egoes, and few make Ego-Coins today, making them heavily precious.
The new C++ tribe that profited the most out of the sufferings of other people (like the Great Ones and the Big-Egoed) prospered and captured all surrounding villages and cities of the old with their painful syntax techniques.
There was one city that stood against C++, and that was the Rustlings. With their friendly errors, type safety, and speed, tensions between C++ and the Rustlings quickly rose.
The two empires fought for 5 years, but neither side could destroy the other. C++ was the most feared, and they could easily get more armies, but the Rustlings had better attack tactics. After long negotiations, they decided to hate on JavaScript, which was growing larger and larger throughout the years.
C++ and the Rustlings joined together to try to fight JavaScript and liberate the world, but it was quickly destroyed. JavaScript had grown too powerful. With the creation of HTML, JS took over the web, the most powerful country in the world. Withe the creation of NodeJS, reality became theirs. And finally, with the creation of TypeScript, JavaScript had no weaknesses. It was a lost cause. Within one week, C++ and the Rustlings quickly ran away.
During this time, of recovering from The Quarrel, Money was created as the main currency. Because of the huge costs it took for C++ and the Rustlings to make the defeated armies, they had a huge debt that cycles weren't practical to pay for, and Ego-Coins were not plenty in their hands. To solve this problem, they had to create a currency that wasn't as cheap as Cycles but was less expensive than Ego-Coins to solve their war debts. JavaScript soon stole the idea and declared it as the official currency. The Rustlings and C++ accepted the plagiarism as they were in no mood to fight again.
Soon, the first converting stations were made to convert Cycles and Ego-Coins to Money, and vice-versa. This tremendously helped the world as a whole, and probably saved many currency wars.
You are a young coder with the hopes of being the richest and becoming the Window Scope, the ruler of the world. It will be a long journey as you claim things of the old and find Ego-Coins to become the most richest and buy a superarmy huge enough to make the current Window Scope (a powerful man named X.H.R.) bow down before you. Good luck!
In the modern day, there are many jobs that are very laborious and pay little. The best job that balances labor and reward would be coding. It is the most widespread job across the world and more than one have struck rich from it. The process is simple. You make a few lines of code, and you sell the rights to it for some money, but you can also post the code for some cycles.
