MCP Git-Server Commit Function Fails with Schema Error

Description

The git_commit function of the MCP Git-Server throws a schema error despite correct parameters.

Error

MCP error -32602: Structured content does not match the tool's output schema: data should NOT have additional properties

Steps to Reproduce

1. Initialize MCP Git-Server
2. Add files to git
3. Execute commit using git_commit
4. Error occurs

Code Example

Workaround

Direct git commands work:

Additional Information

Possible Cause

The MCP Git-Server response contains additional properties not defined in the expected schema.

I have the same problem, although it's intermittent. I have been able to use the tool sometimes and sometimes it fails many times in a row.

I'm getting a green dot with "no tools, prompts or resources" in Cursor. In Github Copilot for VS Code, tools are retrieved correctly, but when the agent tried to use git_set_working_dir, it got:

Tried your config with my directory structure. It's working in VSCode. Still no tools, prompts or resources in Cursor. In Windsurf, when agent tries to use a tool, it fails with "Failure in MCP tool execution: transport error: server process has ended".
