tree: consider showing task messages when jobs collapsed

The tree view displays job messages:

This can be really helpful for debugging failures.

However, these messages are not displayed when the jobs are collapsed:

We should consider keeping the messages visible to make them more accessible.

A downside of this is that it increases the number of elements rendered which will have performance impacts, so this may need careful consideration.
