Cache folder not created from fork install

I have a fork of cypress and it gets installed alright however there is no cypress folder in node_modules/.bin and there is no cache folder in appdata/local/cypress. I had some trouble in the install where I had to change the postinstall script to make the path work with windows, could this be a similar error? If so where should I look?
