Visibility Check Fails in Webkit but Passes in Chrome

Hi, I have these two assertions:

        cy.get('.my-selector').invoke('width').should('be.gt', 0);
        cy.get('.my-selector').should('be.visible');

Which creates these log outputs:

assert expected 375 to be above 0
This element <div.my-selector> is not visible because it has an effective width and height of: 0 x 0 pixels.

Why does it assert that the width is 375 but then complains that the width is 0?

Edit:

The parent has actually dimensions of auto x auto and overflow is hidden.

Also:

• it is considered visible in Chrome, but invisible in Webkit.

I tried with another element on the page
This element is not visible because its parent has CSS property: overflow: hidden and an effective width and height of: 0 x 0 pixels.

But the element is visible nonetheless and on Chrome the check also passes.
