Custom Command doesn't recognizes subject

This is my simplified command

Cypress.Commands.add("customCommand", { prevSubject: 'element' }, (subject, value) => {
  subject.scrollIntoView()
return subject
})

And I use it like this:

cy
    .get(dropdownSelector)
    .shadow()
    .find(dropdownShadowSelector)
    // .scrollIntoView()
    .customCommand(someValue)

If I use scrollIntoView() directly after the find() everything works like a charm. But if I use it in the command, it doesn't. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
