I keep receiving notifications on Samsung Galaxy saying that SD Maid SE is using up too much resources. Should I ignore it? In the meantime, I froze it with IceBox/Shizuku

That's a very vague description, what does too much mean?
When SD Maid runs, it will use as much as possible to complete operations fast.

too less of information to assist you effectivly. Which Galaxy Model you have and which Android Version is running? How big is the size of your RAM / ROM?
On My Pixel 10 with 12 GB RAM / 256 GB ROM all is working nicely and very, very fast and smooth.
SD-Maid does not consume too much memory on my device, so I would receive such messages.
