Hi @Drag0nFly - just wanted to confirm if I understand the request correctly. Would it be sufficient to be able to have a single configuration parameter which controls how all folders are sorted by default / at start of nmail? And then user is allowed to change per-folder sorting during run-time, but it's not persisted until next time. Or is the suggestion to have configurable default and also persistent sorting at per-folder level based on users last run-time sorting of each folder? For reference, I see Alpine seem to have a single global setting, for the sorting at start up: |

Instead of specifying each time
nmailis started whether to sort via date/name/subject on a per-folder basis, it would be useful to have a config value where this can be set in theui.conffile in order for the message index to be more in line with a user's preference. Optionally: if a user then issues a different sort order for certain folders this would then take precendece. Thanks for considering.
