Address book and Search not working

Hi!
first i had to say how great this project is!!
i looked everywhere for a simple-setup terminal-based Email Client, went through a lot of pain to configure alpine just to realize how complicated to daily drive it was.
then i found nmail and i've been loving it ever since.
my only issue with it is that i have never got the address book to work, neither the search function.
i'm a relatively new linux user, and i'm pretty sure that is because i didn't set something up correctly.
I would greatly appreciate any help to fix this. :)

Hi @jveliz-08 - glad to hear the positive feedback 🙂

The search database as well as the address book database are populated when nmail is entering idle (check the top right corner for its status). It enters idle after 15 seconds of inactivity, then one would see some brief status Indexing x% for a few seconds (this is when the search/addressbook db are built) before the status shows Idle.

Currently the databases are just populated based on emails you've viewed (which can be none if you have "inbox zero"), and in order to sync all emails, one needs to press s. It runs in the background, but can take some time the first time depending on mailbox size. You will see some Fetching/Pre-fetching status updates along with percentage completion.

I have some plans to perform this sync automatically (for example after x minutes of inactivity), but it's still under consideration.

tldr; try pressing s and wait for sync to complete and nmail to enter Idle state, then search and address book should work.
