Can script create the backup folder if it doesn't exist?

Apparently https://github.com/daniel-sc/podio-backup/blob/master/podio_backup_full_cli.php#L92 checks for the directory but won't create the directory if it doesn't exist? Is there a reason that wasn't added? tyvm
