Error running the setup script

Getting an error running the setup script (copied this from the Terminal):

This was the second run but the error message is the same as the first time.

Edit: I'm on a MacBook AIR M2, 24 GB RAM, macOS 26.0.1 with more than 1 TB of free SSD space.

I have a similar error message when running the setup as well.

This was the second run but had the same error message on the first one.

I am also having the same issue. I think this is leading to me getting SessionStart:startup hook error when I launch Claude Code.

@kenswain Not sure if this is related but I was getting "SessionStart:startup hook" errors and I fixed by hardcoding my home dir for PAI_DIR in ~/.claude/settings.json rather than relying on $HOME.

Yes. Claude Code is allergic to dynamic paths in env files and such

That fixed that issue.

The setup.sh script has been removed in favor of simpler installation instructions.

Updated Installation:
See the current QUICKSTART.md for the new simple installation process:

cp -r .claude ~/.claude

No setup script needed! This avoids all the platform-specific issues that setup.sh had.
