Hello.

I am finally moving away from pywal and came across your project. I cloned the repo and built it with make. When I run it, it changes the colors and then hangs. I have to press Ctrl-C to get back to my terminal. Image below shows where it it stuck.

Looking at your readme file on the repo, it never moves onto the processing template part. I wonder if it has anything to do with the error. I have it underlined below where for some reason the file path has a //cache in it.

Any ideas I could look at? It has been ages since I coded in C++ , but I don't mind diving into the code.

I tried running 'hellwal -i image_path' using the same image above. I get the color block an still have to press Ctrl-C to exit. Also get this output with the --debug setting.

OS: Xubuntu noble 24.04 x86_64
DE: Xfce4 4.18
WM: Xfwm4 (X11)
TERM: terminator, kitty, and ghostty (same issue in all 3)

I think I was able to fix the '//cache/' issue. In hellwal.c I wen tot line 1766 and removed the leading / in "/cache/". Also removed the leading on on line 1768. Still get the warning message. I am guessing that is because it is the first time it has loaded the wallpaper.

Would it be possible to check if cache_dir ends with a '/' and if it does remove the '/' character at the end??
