Agents, tool calls and disabling streaming - intention / technical limitation?

I was wondering if it is a technical limitation and "working as intended" that I have to disable streaming
whenever I want my agent to use tools and call functions - or if that is an issue of my setup?

If I uncheck "Disable streaming" I'll only ever get the thinking block and maybe a response that states what functions/tools the model would need to call, but there's no actual tool calling happening.
