Tools/Action Support for Deepseek R1

Is tools/actions support planned for Deepseek-R1, and if so, is there an estimated timeline for it?

Yup but at the moment, it doesn’t have tool calling support

If I delete the action I don't get the error:

But I don't see the thought section.

The thought section I see only without agents via openrouter:

The same behavior occurs when using Deepseek directly instead of OpenRouter.

I believe we have two issues:

1. When we use agents, we don't see the "thoughts."
2. If we create actions, we encounter exceptions, making actions unusable.

In my opinion, the combination of Agents and Actions provides tremendous value to users :)

I'm very interested to know if you plan to fix this soon or if contributions in this area are welcome.

Hi @ogipogi

You are attempting to use deepseek-r1 and/or deepseek-reasoner with tools, which at the LLM/inference level is not supported on any application.

Only deepseek-chat currently supports tool-calling.

"Reasoning" tokens are not yet supported via agents* either but will be soon
