If I use the Assistants API, it provides citations using superscript numbers1 that lets me know when it is referencing data from my uploaded documents. However, when I upload a document using the RAG API in a normal chat session, it might tell me something like "according to the document..." but there are no superscript numbers by the specific sections letting me know what information it got from the file as opposed to its own training or hallucinations.
Is this something that's just not supported, or is there a way to do this that I'm not seeing? Also, I assume the documents I upload to a conversation are scoped to that conversation and aren't referenced in other conversations unless I add them there too, but I'm not certain about that. Can anyone confirm?
