[Enhancement]: Support tools directly in the message box

ChatGPT, Claude have tools in message box and i think it's very convenient for users. Can we have a feature like this, a dropdown to select tools for processing message? This could improve LibreChat's UX

Yes, it's planned and already being worked on, first with MCP (not final styling):

Other tools will be available too, this is why we updated the UI for the chat area, and not just when using agents.

Thank you for your response! I think this will be an excellent update for the user experience. I have an additional question: I think the token calculation should be expanded for more customization. If we connect agents or users with MCP servers or external services, some of which may have additional fees, these should be included in the user's overall cost (total tokens in LibreChat) for easier management. Therefore, the balance checking process should also be updated to be more flexible because user costs are not always limited to LLM providers?

Yup, I agree, that is also an open issue and planned: #6271

Most of the ChatGPT UI-like interfaces in my research don't have a complete cost-tracking and balance-checking solution, nor the ability to customize and add extra fees to the user's overall consumption. I think this feature will push LibreChat one step ahead of many other solutions, and at that point, we can build complex agents without worrying about exceeding the balance.
