Hi team,
I wanted to open up a conversation about making it easier to override or customize UI labels in LibreChat, especially for use cases where we don’t have access to the source code or can’t rebuild the frontend.
Right now, since translations are bundled at build time, modifying labels post-deployment (for example, patching translation.json or injecting scripts into index.html) doesn't seem to work reliably. In practice, this makes it difficult to apply quick fixes or customize phrasing for specific deployments — even minor wording changes require a full rebuild.
Would it be possible to explore an approach where:
Labels could be loaded dynamically (e.g., via an external JSON config or endpoint), or
There’s support for overriding default translations at runtime using a config file or environment variable?
This would be a huge help for teams managing deployments in more restricted environments (e.g., via Docker containers where we don’t build the app ourselves).
Happy to help explore possible solutions or provide more context based on our setup. Curious to hear your thoughts!
