OpenID Buttons not showing

What happened?

Version: 0.7.8 (Latest as of 18.05.2025)

Description:
OpenID button is missing, even though in the backend logs it says "OpenID connect configured"

Steps to Reproduce

.env:

OPENID_BUTTON_LABEL: Login with Gilab
OPENID_CALLBACK_URL: /oauth/openid/callback
OPENID_CLIENT_ID: xxxxx
OPENID_CLIENT_SECRET: gloas-xxxx
OPENID_IMAGE_URL: https://gitlab.com/favicon.ico
OPENID_ISSUER: https://gitlab.com/.well-known/openid-configuration
OPENID_SCOPE: openid profile email
OPENID_SESSION_SECRET: xxxxxx
OPENID_USE_END_SESSION_ENDPOINT: 'true'

DOMAIN_SERVER and DOMAIN_CLIENT have also been set to the domain of the LibreChat server, didn't work either way, and ALLOW_SOCIAL_* also set

What browsers are you seeing the problem on?

Relevant log output

Only successful setup in log messages. No helpful browser console logs sadly.

Hi Danny! It seems like i'm stuck here - updated to latest version. There are also no error messages, I double checked: Environment of Pod:

      DEBUG_LOGGING:                 true
      ALLOW_REGISTRATION:            true
      ALLOW_SOCIAL_LOGIN:            true

in addition all the variables from the openid tutorial are set when checking k describe configmap librechat-librechat-configenv | grep OPENID:

      OPENID_IMAGE_URL:
OPENID_REQUIRED_ROLE_TOKEN_KIND:
OPENID_ISSUER:
OPENID_CALLBACK_URL:
OPENID_CLIENT_SECRET:
OPENID_SCOPE:
OPENID_SESSION_SECRET:

OPENID_BUTTON_LABEL:

Also in config env and on pod to make 100% sure:

You might be missing "ALLOW_SOCIAL_REGISTRATION"

Hi Danny, thanks for the quick answer! :) - Was also in the config map, to be 100% sure i added it to the deployment as well now, but sadly didn't help. All of those three are added:

    - name: ALLOW_EMAIL_LOGIN
              value: 'true'
            - name: ALLOW_SOCIAL_REGISTRATION
              value: 'true'
            - name: ALLOW_SOCIAL_LOGIN
              value: 'true'

When setting ALLOW_EMAIL_LOGIN to false, there is no option at all to login anymore - I'm out of ideas, but maybe i'm also missing something crucial here. Considering that it shows the section but doesn't display the OpenID provider, maybe the OpenID provider setup is messed up on my side? It should contain everything from the docs though

This can be closed. The final error was that the configYamlContent / librechat.yml file didn't have anything listed as social logins. It might be useful, to provide a hint, if creds are provided but no social logins enabled. At the same time this definitely was a layer 8 problem. Best Thanks Danny and everyone who helped here! :)

im stuck at the exact same issue, seemed to do all the same, but im not sure i understood the configYamlContent thing.
