[Question]: Upload file to non agents have all three options as agents

Hi I had set

runCode: false

So code interpreter does not appear for non agentic endpoints. But when I upload file I get three options same as for agents -

Upload image
Upload for file search
Upload for code interpreter .

Why does it appear ??

For all Dev apis

Hi Danny thanks for link and the quick reply but it is confusing that even though I have capabilities defined only for agents for NON agentic endpoints it is appearing as well . I have disabled code interpreter for them so code interpreter does not appear for non agentic but the normal upload file option has all three types of uploads which is confusing

like for azure - I click for any model the upload appears for all three options - image , file search and code interpreter but the code interpreter is disabled for azure and other non agentic endpoints .

Without a reproduction config, startup logs, and screenshots of the full chatarea, I can't help debug this properly.

The additional upload options will show up if the capabilities are not disabled (even when using Azure, and an MCP server is selected, or Search, or Code Interpreter):

If i make add the following to librechat.yaml:

  agents:
# execute_code, file_search not included, among other capabilities
    capabilities: ["tools"]

They no longer show up for this case.

Seeing the extended options is "normal" as everything will move to "agents" under the hood over the next week.

So now I set my deepl mcp server as -

To avoid non-agentic endpoints to have the three types of upload option like- upload for image, file search and code interpreter I set the capabilties as-

agents: capabilities: ["tools"]

I am using the image tag as- danny-avila/librechat-dev-api:dff4fcac00939cf5a9b2077eba4cadcfe47c72eb

Now here the issue is for non-agentic endpoint-

If the server is disabled and I click on attach the files icon- then the files upload appear as normal

Now if I enable the mcp servers- deepl

Then I get the upload only image option with the config as shared with you in the same message for yaml.

I need to upload other format files also.... but in the normal way as is happening without selecting the MCP server.

So, with the MCP server enabled, for non-agentic endpoints I cannot discard the all three options on the UI (this is normal behavior)-

And uploading the files when the server is selected cannot have only file upload option as below? -

Basically Danny my question is - if mcp server is enabled for non agentic endpoints is there a way to disable the options -

upload for file search
Upload for image
Upload for code interpreter

that also appear if mcp server is enabled ?

If I disable the server - like not choose it and chat with non agentic endpoint normally and try uploading a file then it gets uploaded in the way I shared in above video .

Can the file be uploaded in the same way as in video if mcp server is also active for non agentic endpoint ?
