Web search automatically enabled

Some of my custom endpoints are automatically using the openai paramater options, including "use responses api" and "web search" and this automatically for openrouter and xai it chooses use web search automatically which stops the model from responding. I have to turn this off every time I want to use the models. I have tried both drop params and add params for web search and I can't figure this out.

Maybe I missunderstand the add params, but I can't enable use responses api automatically for o4-mini no matter what I do. I wonder if this is a caching issue?

These options are not enabled by default, have you enabled them before when using OpenAI and then switching to a custom endpoint?
