Currently, LibreChat allows administrators to add new MCP servers to a deployment by editing the librechat.yaml file, which works well for system-wide configurations. However, there isn't a way for end users to add their own MCP servers based on their individual needs and workflows.
I'd like to suggest adding functionality that would allow users to configure their own MCP servers directly from the interface. A good reference implementation for this type of feature can be found in Chatwise (https://docs.chatwise.app/tools), where users can manage their own tool configurations independently of the system defaults.
Additionally, it would be helpful if users could selectively hide server-defined MCPs that aren't relevant to their use case. This would give users more control over their workspace and help reduce interface clutter by showing only the tools they actually need.
This enhancement would provide a nice balance between administrator control and user flexibility, allowing organizations to provide default MCP servers while still empowering users to customize their environment based on their specific requirements.
