Support AGNTCY Protocol in LibreChat Marketplace for Framework-Agnostic Agent Support

Overview

LibreChat already has a Marketplace for agents. By implementing the AGNTCY protocol, LibreChat’s Marketplace could support agents from any framework—without requiring custom adapters. This would make adding agents seamless, standardized, and scalable.

Motivation

• Protocol-first: AGNTCY defines a universal way for agents to describe capabilities, identity, and interoperability.
• Framework-agnostic: Any agent implementing AGNTCY can be discovered and integrated into LibreChat, regardless of how it was built.
• Simplified onboarding: Instead of maintaining framework-specific integrations, LibreChat only needs to support the AGNTCY protocol.

Proposal

1. Implement AGNTCY protocol support in LibreChat’s Marketplace.
2. Use AGNTCY “Agent Cards” as the standard format for describing and installing agents.
3. Expose a simple flow in the Marketplace to register and activate AGNTCY-compliant agents.
4. Ensure compatibility with existing Marketplace features (UI, search, metadata).
