File Search in Agent Chat doesn't work. (agent builder file search works)

So I have created this agent called Example Agent. While creating the agent using agent builder, I have set the file search enabled and uploaded an Excel file. I saved that agent and then go to the chat mode and select this example agent to ask a question about the files attached in the agent builder and it works when i ask about that file.

However, if I attach a file to the same agent in the chat interface using the file search option, it is not returning anything. It says it cannot find the uploaded file. But if I go to the regular chat interface by selecting the model and upload the file, it works okay.

Only via agent chat, the uploaded files are not working. What could be the reason, or is this the actual issue or expected workflow?

I have the same issue. When however I am repeating the task without using an agent, it works properly. I don't know what I am missing or which logs I should check

I noticed with many files attached to the agent already, they are all used for file search. so it could be any files uploaded to chat are getting "overcrowded" in context or file search results

This is my example:

Logs from the RAG API

There is nothing worrying there.

And when I am using the same functionality in the discussion, it works.

I am not sure which logs I should be looking at or where to look. I will continue on it.

Is the RAG API reachable? Can you share debug logs generated during request?

Log locations:

• Docker: Project root directory ./logs
• npm: ./api/logs

There are two types of logs that can help diagnose the issue:

• debug logs (debug-YYYY-MM-DD.log)
• error logs (error-YYYY-MM-DD.log)

Error logs contain exact stack traces and are especially helpful, but both can provide valuable information.

Please only include the relevant portions of logs that correspond to when you reproduced the error.

I have been able to pinpoint this to meilisearch:

When doing this from a discussion, there is no issue.
When doing the same from the agent, it gives this error message.
