Consider stripping ansi styling from logs in appenders that doesn't support it

ANSI stilling from cli can easily spill in to logger. This is generally good, as long as the appender supports it.

I don't think there is a good way to determine empirically if a stream supports ansi but a good approximation is to at least strip ansi formatting for the file appender

Thanks for raising this -- excellent point!

Creating a helper to strip ANSI is definitely useful, and adding an optional param for the related formatters would make a lot of sense to me. On the other hand, I'd not enforce it on the file formatter without user-control, as they might want to preserve the logs with ANSI for future replay in a terminal .. or other crazy use-cases :)
