dreamcast esp32 only taking 3 bluetooth constrollers, 4th controller connects but doesnt work.

i am a bit lost.
i have followed a guide for installing a esp32 board in my sega dreamcast, used the same color wires to make it a little easier.. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6fgQeCgCrA).
the controller board was revised a few months ago with a component kit and a new battery and works flawless.
all went well, but i cannot get the 4th controller to work over bleutooth.
i have 4 8bitdo sn30 pro controllers i use for this end tested it with other bleutooth controller incl my ps4, ps5 and xbox controllers; changed the cables, refluxed , resoldered a few times and checked all the contacts.
multimeter says all connections are fine and i cannot find any shorts.
plugging in a 4th controller ( 3 wireless and port 4 wired ) makes the wired controller work together with them.
tried deleting , reinstalling and downgrading and none seem to work.
bought a pack of 3 esp32's so i did the work and tested all 3 of them, they all do the same.

are there others with the same problem , and have a tip how they got it solved ?
