There are two pathways:
1. Remain on 1.0.x OS but update the DAT Linux Control Panel to the 2.0 edition (for the 2.0 apps stream).
2. Back-up your data and perform a clean install/overwrite with DAT Linux 2.0 ISO and then restore your data.
OPTION 1
Close the DAT Linux control panel and/or system conky if open. Then run the following commands:
Some apps now rely on Flatpak, so please also run:
Then run Apps Update from the DAT Linux Control Panel. Go to Help->About in the control panel to confirm the new control panel distribution version is now on the 2.0 stream. The system conky will still show version DAT Linux 1.0.x which is fine, but you are now on the 2.0 apps stream.
OPTION 2
The first thing you should do is back up your home directory to a partition or drive that can be reached from your new installation. PRO subscribers can use the backup/restore tool to help with this process. Please follow the instructions carefully and understand the risks. Non PRO subscribers can use manifest.txt (an example backup manifest) to see where config data is located for DAT Linux managed apps.
Once DAT Linux 2.0 is installed please proceed to re-install your favourite apps* and to recover your home dir files, as needed, from backup. PRO users can proceed to re-install the PRO tools using your existing license key and restore tool if you did a PRO tools backup.
* It's recommended to install an app before recovering its config/data from backup.
