dmenu is a display tool, it does not scan or look at $PATH. Checking executable bit for all entries slows things down. |

Well, for anyone else hitting this "issue", as a workaround you can use rofi -modi "drun,run:dmenu_path" -show drun -show-icons |

Description
The run mode displays non-executable files in PATH directories. For example, with IntelliJ IDEA's standard Linux installation, searching "idea" shows:
idea(executable)idea.png(not executable)idea.properties(not executable)idea.sh(executable)idea.svg(not executable)idea64.vmoptions(not executable)In contrast, dmenu correctly shows only the executable files.
