Can't connect to LED strip

Hi, I installed your AddOn as instructed but when I try to add a new device it asks for the bluetooth mac adress and a name. Your feature list says the addon can discover devices without the need of a MAC adress? How?

Edit: Got the MAC Adress and still can't connect. I guess my device is not supported and that's why it wasn't found automatically? It's an LED power strip that is controlled through the duoCo Strip App on iPhone.

I bought this led strip (https://www.amazon.es/dp/B0DK37NYSV), i found it with my scanner: 'BLE Devices Scanner': Sending state '{"timestamp":2534,"address":"BE:67:00:23:02:F1","rssi":-33,"name":"ELK-BTCWB "}'.

Is it possible that even though it is the ELK model, it does not work with the library? When I enter the MAC at the beginning, I get an error message.

Is there anything I could look for before buying a strip to know if it’s compatible or do I have to gamble?

Im will try to prepare a script to detect commands on/off to transform your strips led into supported

You can use wireshark sniffer in your phone to try to detect your led strip commands and post here to transform it in supported

I would love to but I have no clue how. On iOS and Android I can find only WiFi related apps. I installed Wireshark and Bluetooth Test Platform on my PC but can’t figure out how to do anything with it. Wireshark just shows empty lists. Sorry.

It is posible you need to stay near your strip , it is posible distance error
It is possible too you need to disconnect your strip and your mobile, only it is possible connect one device

I'm trying to connect to the MAC I showed you with your command, but it doesn't work. It keeps telling me it's disconnected. I've tried one of the forks from your library, and it seems to detect it, but it doesn't do anything to the LED strip.

I intercepted the request on the console and you can see the MAC again there.

Finally the problem is clear, your strip use one command to turn on that my library no have.

You need to discover it , or it is imposible to integrate it

While trying to get that script running I found out you can't pass built-in bluetooth to the virtual machine, so I gotta get an external bluetooth dongle first and maybe my issue is solved with this already.

Update to my issue: I got a bluetooth proxy and now I can add the strips, so that part was totally me being a noob thinking HAOS in a VM can access BT devices out of the box.

I got the two strips added to HA and I can turn them on and off, enable and disable the mic, set the mic sensitivity, and the effect speed. I can not set the brightness, the color or the effect itself. Is this something you could add? What would you need from me?

I tried running your BTScan.py script but all I get is

Not sure if it's the script or I'm doing it wrong, I'm not familiar with running python scripts. I just downloaded the file to D:\ and then ran "python BTScan.py" in PowerShell with admin rights.

Edit: Nevermind, the settings are there, I just looked at the wrong place. Though the color setting is a bit off. For example #4fffca gives more of a #35b5ff. Raising brightness produces almost pure white pretty quickly. The base colors and the colors at the outer edge look good though. It feels like the brightness of the actual lights is increased 5 times stronger than the setting in HA.
