Does dinit support some sort of service healtcheck/heartbeat/watchdog?

Hey. I'm researching service supervision systems and have a question about dinit.

I haven't found in the docs whether dinit supports some sort of health check for services. I understand that it monitors a process crashing, but I'm looking for monitoring e.g. a service hanging.

Systemd can receive WATCHDOG=1 message through sd_notify() for such heartbeat. Is there something similar for dinit? E.g. periodic run of some command that checks for service health that dinit could do and restart/fail the service if it fails?

Dinit doesn't incorporate any healthcheck function internally (if it's not in the docs, it's not there).

However, you can always set up services so that your service of interest is started via (i.e. as a dependency of) another one that performs a health check function.
