add value to y range

My value above the bar is cut off because the y range is too small. Can I increase the y range by a certain factor so that there is enough space for the value or is there an even better way?

You could do:

    y: 1.2

This will push the legend so high up that the plot should have space

Sorry this not solve the problem. Only the margin between grid and legend got bigger.

Try combining it with

    y: 1.2 # legend above the plot area
  yaxis: 
    domain: [0, 0.5] # Only use the bottom half for the plot area

if you have multiply yaxes, you can use defaults/yaxes instead

Ohhh I'm sorry, I thought the problem was that the legend was over the plot, bot that the text annotations were clipped.
Maybe cliponaxis: false in the entity?
Otherwise you could set the text anchor to be top so the text is below the top of the bar instead of above
