Q: Is the init function broken or am I noob?

I have seen a few posts about my issue with no clear answer (that I have found). When I am prompted to enter a path for an "init image"- no matter where the path comes from- I am always met with, "UnidentifiedImageError...". I have successfully loaded a few online .pngs into a deforum sequence, but most online png sources, that I have tried, give the same error.
What am I not understanding?

I was successful by using an init image from the local stable-diffusion-webui folder. Haven't tried online images - perhaps try saving it locally?

I am trying this now without success. I have a lone png in the local directory of the stable-diffusion webui folder as well as a folder of images. Neither worked
