Start again at the start page after a random amount of time

Would it be possible to add an option which would start again at the start page after a random amount of time?

I am researching the possibility to use Random Walk as a means to generate filter lists for tools like Pi-Hole or uBlock Origin.

This is the setup I am currently considering:

• Install the The Privacy Badger & Random Walk add-on in Firefox.
• Let Random Walk surf the web randomly. www.reddit.com/r/random might be a good start page.
• Export the data from Privacy Badger to extract a filter list for trackers.

Sounds like a reasonable request - I shall consider it for inclusion in the next release. BTW you're aware there's a trace level preference?

I am not sure what you mean by "trace level preference"?

By the way, there exists a similar project for the web search: TrackMeNot.

Sorry. By 'trace level preference' I meant '3-bar' menu > Add-ons > Extensions > Random Walk > Options > Add-on logging level. With DEBUG logging enabled, you can observe the activity of the add-on in the Firefox console. You could probably use a regular expression to parse the log and extract the URLs visited.

BTW thanks for the TrackMeNot link - I was unaware of it. Looks like it just fires off random queries. Random Walk does that too but its main mode of operation is to randomly traverse linked pages. The concern here was more around government-mandated HTTP request header tracking by ISPs; obfuscating search history was a secondary but nonetheless important concern. So on that account I like your idea of a randomly timed random search.
