Using this from within a library?

I'd like to know if using this in a library to be imported by another project is a supported use-case and what's the recommended way of making it work?
Would it make sense to change the outputPath to a directory within src/ so it's under source control and gets included in the build for NPM?

I have created a npm package on this way, it works well installing it as a package in other apps
