- Posting permissions not clear. You still need to approve (first) posts even when you choose option-1

- First-timers don't know that they can post on an event page since
Discussions tab is not prominent. Fixes could be, making Discussions the default tab instead.

Have this instead (perhaps Discussions being the first tab):

There's no clear way of checking in to an event
People usually say the are going for an event, but those that actually go for the event is a subset of this. Could there be an easy way of attendees just checking in. The alternative way of someone posting a status update is not intuitive.

Recurring Events
This is not priority but will be nice to have a way for creating recurring events. It comes with it's own complexity in terms of RSVP, etc; but it's something worth considering.
Maybe if there was a way to clone the previous event and quickly set up a new one?
