Should the StacItemLoader allow exceptions through?

As I was setting up the loader on a recent project, I saw my StacItemLoader runs succeeding, only to discover they failed by inspecting the logs. Should we instead not catch exceptions, to allow the lambda monitoring to flag failures?

Thanks for raising this issue @gadomski - did the failures land in the DeadLetterQueue? The reason we catch the exceptions is to facilitate partial batch failures. I had not thought about how these failures would be hidden in the Lambda monitoring context.

Maybe it would be useful to add a CloudWatch alarm and/or dashboard that would show the failures more clearly.
