The ingestor silently fails when the handler configuration is wrong

By mistake in some experiment I specified the wrong entrypoint for the ingestor handler. I was expecting that calls to the API handler to return an error. It is not the case, whereas if I look at the logs of the ingestor lambda itself, I do see the expected error. Somewhere along the way the error is silenced.
