WAL file in Local Sessions

Hey guys

Hey guys I have configure a local sessions in my WAHA PLUS bot. I noticed that my disk space has been suffering with WAL files. How can I disable or reduce this?

Hi! Could you try restarting the session?
Just restart, not logout (it'll remove the wal file)

1. stop session - it must remove -wal and -shm files, but keep gows.db
2. start session - it must start a fresh wal and shm files

IF that doesn't help - try restarting the whole container and try again.

Let us know if something helped, probably gows doesn't release the sqlite3 and constantly uses it, this is why there's big wal 🤔

I restarted sessions whose .db-wal files were large, and the size of those files changed to 0.
Currently, the largest ones I have are only 8MB, and I don't understand how it reached a value as large as 900MB for some sessions that day.
I'll implement a mechanism to gradually clean up the larger .db-wal files, but I still don't know why it reached such a large value.

EDITED:
In the meantime, I had restarted the docker container, which may have been the reason for the reduction in the size of the .db-wal files.

I don't understand how it reached a value as large as 900MB for some sessions that day.

It could happen if you'd use read API a lot (like GET messages/chats/etc) every second or so for the session.
But unlikely, to be honest, likely it's an internal bug :)
