💡 Feature Request: Add Custom Attributes for Ad Identification in Chatwoot
It would be great if WAHA could automatically send additional ad-tracking attributes to Chatwoot, similar to how it already provides:
waha_whatsapp_chat_id, waha_whatsapp_jid, and waha_whatsapp_lid.
These new attributes would help identify where each conversation originated from (ad, organic, direct link, etc.) and improve campaign tracking.
Suggested attributes:
Ad Source — indicates the ad origin (for example: FB_Ads, IG_Ads)
→ key: waha_conversion_source
Source Type — defines the type of message source (for example: ad, organic)
→ key: waha_source_type
Entry Point — shows the entry point of the conversation (for example: ctwa_ad, direct_link)
→ key: waha_entry_point_conversion_source
Source App — identifies the app where the ad was displayed (for example: Instagram, Facebook)
→ key: waha_entry_point_conversion_app
These values are already available in the Meta (CTWA) payload, so automatically mapping them into Chatwoot custom attributes would greatly simplify lead tracking and attribution, avoiding the need for external automations like n8n.
Benefits:
Easier to identify leads coming from ads
Improves campaign performance reports
Prevents data loss or duplication
Keeps consistent naming with existing WAHA attributes
