WAHA Plus + Chatwoot Integration: 401 Error on Message Sending

Environment:

• WAHA Plus (latest version)
• Chatwoot (custom integration)
• Docker containers

Issue:
Getting 401 Unauthorized when Chatwoot tries to send messages to WAHA Plus, but receiving works perfectly.

What works: ✅ WAHA → Chatwoot (receiving)
What fails: ❌ Chatwoot → WAHA (sending) - 401 error

My WAHA Plus config:

API Error: Request failed with status code 401

Questions:

1. What auth header should Chatwoot send? (X-Api-Key, Authorization, etc.)
2. Should I use WAHA_API_KEY or WAHA_API_KEY_PLAIN in requests?
3. Any specific endpoints requiring different auth?

Developer says API key is hardcoded but still getting 401. Any help appreciated!

Hi! Do not share the WAHA_API_KEY :)
Yes, set both WAHA_API_KEY and WAHA_API_KEY_PLAIN to the same value - it should help

Exactly, the values were different, and I also had to add the WAHA_API_KEY_PLAIN to the Chatwoot environment so it could communicate with WAHA. After that, everything worked perfectly.
