Description
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The aim is to show historical context to you about the recipient you want to reply to (or new email) - i.e. consolidate their contact info, recent email topics and email response metrics so you can decide if it better to chat or email or call this recipient depending on heir behaviour. e.g. if they typically take a week to reply to your messages, perhaps a phone call is a better way of contacting them, - what's their number?.. oh yes - it's in this new "recipient profile" pane
Describe the solution you'd like
The idea is to present a pane (like the today pane) in the main window that shows stats and contact information about the sender/1st recipient (if sender is self) of the current message. e.g.
- a summary of the contact information you have for that person, (e.g. telephone numbers, chat handle, avatar, profession, contact notes etc)
- distribution of the hour of the day (in UTC) /day of week / they send messages (including replies), across X number of messages (like you have in Thirdstats)
- recent thread subjects (clicking on a subject takes you to the thread)
- number of messages exchanged, in each thread (see how busy / contentious each thread was)
- response time distribution (i.e. elapsed time between a sent message and a reply) for the last X number of messages
I hope you get the idea
The idea is to provide you context and insight into your email history with the person who sent you the message (or that you wish to email)
The focus on providing you useful information to either find recent conversations or about the stats of your email history with a specific person. I'm pretty sure you can do most of this (except contact info) from the Thirdstats filter screen by setting all top level filters but it isn't immediate context for when you are creating a reply in email.
I've seen the same thing implemented in EMClient, and I found it useful (when I was a Windows user), but now I'm on Linux I'm struggling to find similarly functionality
