Description
Hello,
I have been using DICe recently to perform stereo DIC's for a bulge inflation test performed on small polymer samples. Now initially VIC3D was being used to perform these tests and is still being used now as a reference until we can validate the effectivity and accuracy of DICe to replace VIC3D as a free open-source software. Now I am aware that vic3d and DICe aren't inherently similar and they differ in few areas, like calibration for example, which is not a problem... but one thing I am curious about is the filtering and thresholding techniques used in DICE, because vic3d, as our standard, has 4 different threshold parameters to adjust before performing the digital image correlation, 1. Consistency Threshold 2. Confidence Margin 3. Matchability Threshold 4. Epipolar Threshold. DICe on the other hand has one threshold parameter which is the sssig threshold. Considering these parameters, how similar is the thresholding between those two softwares? And what can I do to make the results comparable when it comes to thresholding and filtering?
I would appreciate the help, thanks in advance.
