Download Link duration

So I'm working on a project where i generate pdfs based on internal data and then i can send them to external users of the web app. I'm debating on whether generating the download links for the pdfs, and just sent my external clients those links is a valid approach, but it depends on how long they are useful. Do those links have a limited duration or something? If so does anyone knows how long do they last?
