Vignette strengths act weird.

I feed the Vignette node an upscaled image of 3132x2160 px.
Any Vignette strength above 1 gives the same output, with a much too strong completely black vignette and only a small area of the image is still visible. See attached image, this is the same in the whole range of 1-10.
I have to go down to 0.2 or less to try get some sort of vignetting in only the corners, but it rather looks like a darkening of the whole image than just the borders / corners.
