Questions about Obsidian integration

Hello there, PJ!

I just found your project while searching for a way to force WordPress to ingest Markdown files from a folder, and I've gotta say: it looks amazing.

Since I found out you also created and maintain some Obsidian plugins, I was wondering if you had ever tried creating a WordPressified digital garden/Obsidian Publish website.

I'm currently deciding whether to create my own digital garden using Python's FastAPI + Jinja (which I already have mostly working) or to use an already established project like Quartz. But since discovering Postmark, I'm wondering if using WordPress could be viable.

While evaluating Postmark, I've found that these could be the major struggles:

• Resolving wikilinks
• Handling media sideload

But in general, have you ever used Postmark to publish an Obsidian vault in a standard digital garden, Obsidian Publish-like configuration?

I write some of my wordpress posts in Obsidian but then usually transfer them to a site-specific git repo afterwards. I've actually done some preliminary work to support Wikilinks in postmark but never finalized it because my blog at the moment uses a legacy system involving special IDs in an ID field to handle links. (They look like [text](FOG000012425) to link to a post with ID 12425, using IDs that came from a product called CityDesk I used in the early 2000's and migrated to other site generators over the years prior to Wordpress.)

For media, I don't upload images or store them in the WP database: I just place them as static files and then have a couple of hooks (e.g. img_downsize) to render them, and to allow entering URLs directly in WP's image upload/media selector tool. I do the resizing with external tools like Unsplash and weserv.nl.

But no, I'm not directly doing any Obsidian-to-WP at the moment.

Another tool you might want to look at, though, is Eleventy Notes. It's definitely Obsidian-compatible, including Wikilinks out of the box, and support for doing lists based on queries against frontmatter properties. I've mostly just played around with it as a possible way of doing a garden of some of my notes, but haven't actually gone ahead with any of the projects I considered in that vein.
