Add Always DM Scope

Add the always_dm scope, which will require the bot scope, that'll let the bot always DM or Open a Message Request with the user nevermind their Privacy Setitngs.

It can be right, maybe it can be solved by gating this behind an intent; for example my bot has a favorite system that can be manipulated by other bot, but they need to have access to the user's account on my bot for that; DMs will be the best way for my bot to ask the user if they want the other bot to manipulate their account - but I can't guarantee said user shares a server with my bot.

more intents... in all seriousness, this will be severely abused and I don't really think it's that great to implement in practice, I mean I can see some merit behind it. You could always use ephemeral messages?

For your usecase, I would suggest allowing adding a bot as friend instead.

There will be "Add Friend" button on bot's profile. A human can either press it or manually type out bot's username#discriminator in Add Friend tab to add a bot as a friend. Unlike another human, bot should immediately be added without them accepting the request - that's why the button should not say "Send Friend Request".

While a bot is human's friend, both human and bot can send DM to each other, notwithstanding mutual servers or privacy settings. Human can unfriend bot at any time to revoke their DM access. Bot also can unfriend human once they think they are done with their task and no longer need DM access for certain human, but they should not be able to send friend request to human first.

Using friend feature seems to be easier for end users than scope, and it allows easier revoking of DM access just with unfriending than going to User Settings -> Authorized Apps than press Deauthorize (which surprisingly some users have difficulty to find). This will also allow adding many bots as friends even if you do not have actual friends, making yourself "feel" less lonely.

I strongly agree with the idea of being able to add bots as friends. This could be useful if you keep your DM disabled, but still want to receive DM from specific bots.

However, if this is implemented, bots shouldn't be able to fetch their friends list, or receive any events related to users adding/removing the bot as a friend or we would start to see bots requiring to be added as friends to work.

Like you can block a bot to prevent it from DM'ing you, you should be able to "friend" it to allow it to DM you. Nothing more nothing less.

I agree! Although I would add a scope that automatically friends the bot, and I won't show it in the "Friends" list - except in a new "Bots" tab.
