Would be nice sure, but announcement <=> text conversion is the only type of channel conversion that is allowed. What happens when you make that transition? There's already weird behavior with announcement channels when you disable community, lets not add more. |

Currently, only Stage and Voice channels can have capital letters, spaces, and symbols. I believe that Announcement channels should follow the same rules. Additionally, as Stages and Announcement, (and store channels, R.I.P.) channels are often used for publicity/outreach, it would make sense for them to follow the same rules.
These channel names (in my opinion) can look a lot nicer than text channel names; and are nicer to look at in a list of introductory channels (pic attached).
