Lights not updating state in Homeassistant?

It seems turning on/off lights in the Hue essentials app works great, and shows the proper state of them in the app. However, it doesn't reflect that in Homeassistant. So even though a light is on, it doesn't show that as such in Homeassistant. If I toggle it on in Homeassistant, I see that change reflected in Diyhue. This also happens when activating scenes in the hue app. Also, oddly enough, if I activate a scene in homeassistant (one of the imported ones from diyhue) it doesn't update the state in Homeassistant either, but does in diyhue.

Hi, home assistant uses eventstream to update the states, unfortunately diyhue does not fully support the eventstream like the original bridge does.
This is in development but takes time.
