How to send group events to long polling connection?

Hello. I'm using this example from the doc: https://channels.readthedocs.io/en/stable/topics/consumers.html#asynchttpconsumer

I added only group registration and unregistration. So this is my consumer now:

        await self.channel_layer.group_discard('test', self.channel_name)

But disconnect() method will be called ASAP after send_body with more_body=True. So my group will be unregistered before my server will give an response.

Also I cant trigger chat_message handler out of the consumer. When I am testing it I am commenting line with group_discard. I'm trying using this code:

channel_layer = get_channel_layer()
async_to_sync(channel_layer.group_send)('test', {'type': 'chat.message, 'data': {'test': True}})

This code are placed in save() method of a django model.

What is wrong? Why I got disconnect and why I can't trigger chat_message? Btw. Django Channels (groups and sending to groups) works fine in the same project with WebSockets.

The finally block calls disconnection method and raise stop consumer after completing handler() method (code ref). To work with long polling we should override http_request method by ourselves.
