Controlchange question for a MIDI pad

I am making a webmidi app for my Handsonic MIDI pad. I currently use midi notes for each pad. I am willing to add controlchange listeners to get the 0 values to stop the note after a pad’s long press. I realize cotrolchange doesn’t provide any note information. Thus, I wonder to what should I attach my instrument’s 10 pads. Channels? What would you advise?

I just realized Handsonic 10 allows sending a note off when the Gate time parameter is set to GATE. Thant seam to solve my issue!
